Blu Creative Honored as the Best of the Best in Fair Promotions
Each year the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) honors the top tier of fair advertising, promotions, and public relations with its Hall of Honor Communications Awards.
The Salinas based design and marketing firm Blu Creative, in conjunction with the Monterey County Fair, achieved a huge success during this year’s 31st annual awards by sweeping the best newspaper advertisement, magazine advertisement, poster, brochure/flyer, and media guide categories. Most impressive was Blu Creative’s winning of the highly coveted Best in Show category, no easy feat as entries poured in from across the country and Canada.
The creative team behind Blu Creative was honored by the recognition from the IAFE. “We wanted to visually depict the diversity that makes Monterey County special. The fair is a time for the community to celebrate its unique character, a concept that was important to carry through our entire campaign.” said Lisa Tirado Davis, Blu co-principal.
The awards were recently presented to representatives of the Monterey County Fair at the IAFE Annual Convention held Nov. 26 -29, 2007 in Las Vegas. The IAFE is a voluntary, non-profit corporation, representing more than 1300 fairs around the world, which works to toward promoting and encouraging the development of fairs and expositions.
